We are very pleased to announce the launch of “Id-Dritt” 2006 (Volume XIX). As you know, it took us almost a year and a half to finish it (due to several complications that were out of our control). Following several misunderstandings with various publishers, we decided to publish the journal ourselves. This meant that several responsibilities were passed on to us. Formatting, proof-reading, cover design and several other tasks all had to be tackled by the Editorial Board.

Aside from all that, the journal now boasts twenty articles (presented in a new and enticing format) that will be of interest to everyone. Law students in particular, will find that it will come in handy throughout the duration of the course all the way up to the LL.D degree and beyond.

Over the coming months, work on the re-prints (of all volumes dating back to 1944) should also resume. Please check this website for any new developments.

We sincerely hope that the new edition is to your liking.

What is Id-Dritt?

“Id-Dritt” is an GĦSL publication in existence since the late forties. It is a pastiche of legal articles ranging from broad to specific issues that compiles essential reading for the legal practitioner and the law student alike. Throughout the years, the journal has gone through many modifications and improvements. Today, it is regarded as one of the few indispensable local publications that isaccessible to everyone including the general public. It has become an authoritative commentary on current issues including the several important, far-reaching and sometimes radical amendments that have taken place over time.

“Id-Dritt” is currently being re-vamped once again, and will eventually form part of a complete and updated collection of publications dating back to 1947. I’m convinced that these volumes (available in hardback on request) will become an integral part of most law offices around the island and will feature among students’ books as well. It is after all, very valuable research material and has often helped students grasp certain concepts in far greater detail than would be possible with lecture notes alone.
