Online Legal Information Resources

Course Outline This session will provide participants with information as to where and how to look for legal information available online. The session will focus on free resources but some reference to subscription services will also be made. The session is open to new law students and persons already in employment who have to refer to legal resources during their daily work and need guidance on where to find the required information.

Minute Taking
Course Outline This lecture will take you through the process from sending notice of meetings to circulating the minutes to the Board after the meeting. You will also get the benefit of handy hints and tips for enhancing your minute-taking. The lecture will also set out the legal requirements for all companies in Malta in connection with minutes of Directors' and Shareholders' meetings, as well as additional requirements for entities regulated by the MFSA.

Course Outline This course will provide participants with a review and a better understanding of the applicable law and practice on Foundations in Malta.
Who should attend This course is aimed at notaries, lawyers, other professionals and their staff and all other persons who wish to receive practical and updated information on foundations under the Second Schedule to the Civil Code.
Two social purpose foundations enrolled in terms of the Voluntary Organisations Act will benefit from one complimentary place each on a first come first served basis. (Submission of the certificate of enrollment with the application is required).

ILS Conference Maritime Labour Convention

Course Outline Considered to be both the “Seafarers’ Bill of Rights” and the “Fourth Pillar of Maritime Safety,” the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006, has significant legal, commercial, and practical implications for different stakeholders. This workshop is designed to provide maritime professionals – Shipowner, Flag State, and Port State – with an understanding of the MLC and the various maritime labour issues facing the industry on the advent of the Convention’s entry into force in August 2013.
